Matt Page is our favourite endurance MTB loon. He’s capable of pushing the lines of two-wheeled staying power right into Zombie-town on the world’s toughest race stages, all while sleeping in a van and eating fajitas.
He recently took on arguably the hardest MTB race in the world, Italy’s Iron Bike. A crash eventually forced him to pull out, but not before he’d taken on the 3,966 stairs of the Fenestrelle Fort (we apologise if we lured you in with 4,000 but it’s still a lot of bloody stairs!). The groans of pain halfway down and pitch-black tunnels are amazing, and we reckon the crash at 4:05 must’ve hurt. A lot.
